The Candlelight Inn, a 17th Century pub is set in the picturesque village of Bishopswood in the heart of the Blackdown hills – some of the most beautiful countryside in Somerset. With its original flint walls, wooden floors, intimate lighting and open fires, it has a very cosy and welcoming atmosphere.
The historic building has undergone a loving restoration to bring the best out of this traditional public house. Both menu and bar are packed full of local Somerset produce making The Candlelight Inn a must for visitors to the area.
We can be tricky to find as it set back from the A303, but those who take the time to visit the pretty village of Bishopswood will be rewarded with a pint in splendid surroundings.
The proper atmosphere is perfectly complemented by our wide range of gravity pulled beer, local ciders, and ever changing food menu.
The Candlelight Inn team host regular events throughout the year including;
