The Blackdown Hills Business Association will once again be hosting their infamous Blackdown Hills Marquee at the 128th Honiton Show on Thursday 2nd August, sponsored by Gigaclear. As one of the largest one day agricultural shows in the country, the show has a unique atmosphere that is not to be missed.
This year, the Blackdown Hills marquee will host a wonderful array of local exhibitors to include; food and drink producers, artisans, specialist nurseries, talented musicians and professional businesses, giving you a unique experience of the talent that is present in the Blackdown Hills.
New for 2018, we are introducing a stage area at the front of the marquee where exhibitors and organisations from within the Blackdown Hills will have the opportunity to speak in more details about what they do, the products they offer or how you can get involved in an informal setting. With talks currently confirmed on how to restore furniture, business support schemes currently available and how Southdown Duvets are produced, there will be an extensive range of informative and entertaining presentations throughout the day that can be enjoyed from our haybale theatre.
We are also introducing a café into the marquee in conjunction with Brazier Coffee Roasters, who not only roast their own crafted blends of single origin coffee, but also run very successful cafes at Coldharbour Mill in Uffculme and Tonedale Mill in Wellington and supply their coffee to many other local eateries. As in their cafes, they will be offering a their exceptional coffee, teas and delicious cakes. So why not come and take a break from the hubbub of the showground with a coffee, whilst enjoying the tinkling of keys by William Young, a hugely talented piano restorer and musician and browsing the range of locally produced products on offer, whilst soaking in the community atmosphere.
The marquee will not be short of interactive displays, with children’s activities, and exhibitors such as The Blackdown Hills Hedge Association at the front of the marquee demonstrating techniques as well as providing details of events and courses run by their organisation throughout the year. The Blackdown Hills Marquee is truly one of a kind and not to be missed when visiting the show, we can be found in the lower field, between the West of England Hound Show and the Vintage Tractors.
